Tyrone Black As McM
Dean of The College
Dr Paul Jungmeer has been
named to succeed Dr Tyrone
Black as Vice President for
Academic Affairs of McMurrj
College nnnnounces Dr
I homas K Kim McMurry pres-
ident Dr Black has resigned effec-
tive June 1 at McMurry He has
been appointed new Chairman
of the Economics Department at
the University of Southern Mis-
sissippi Dr Jungmeyer has been serv-
ing as Administrative Assistant
to the McMurry President for
the past two years He joined the
McMurry faculty as Chairman
of the McMurry Education Divi-
sion in 1975
Jungmeyer has continued to
serve as education head even
while taking on new adminis-
trative assistant duties The lat-
ter have included overseeing
McMurry's summer school
Dyess AFU program and other
special programs of the college
"Dr Jungmeyer is nn energe-
tic and highly talented adminis-
trator" said Dr Kim "We re-
gret losing Dr Black who has
done much good work for
McMurry but we are fortunate
in having Dr Jungmeyer tn the
administration and thoroughly
familiar with our organization
Dr Black says he looks for-
ward to his new position because
it involves less administrative
duties and will allow more time
for his primary interests in
teaching nnd research Black
was a professor of economics at
the Mississippi university be-
fore accepting the McMurry
deanship
Jungmeyor a native of
Jamestown Missouri studied at
Lincoln University before earn-
ing his BS degree in education at
the University of Missouri in
1961
He added his MA degree in
history and his PhD degree in
educational curriculum and in-
struction hoth from Texas A&M
University
