WEEKEND
"Hi nice dance."
"Yn great."
"Ah. .nh. . are you new at
McMurry?"
"No I go to A.C.U. Wo love to
come over here to ynll's dances
they're really great."
I would venture to say that at
least 50 of the McMurry stu-
dents have been involved with a
conversation like this. I bet it
happened to you last Saturday
night at obout 10:00 at the
McMurry Social Hall. Right?
Sometimes a conversation
like this could lead to something
wonderful. Yet more times than
not your purpose is defeated. By
the time you get around to ask-
ing her to dance and she nays
yes there is no room to move
much less "make moves".
We at MSG realize that this is
very hard on the heart We have
been trying to mend your broken
heart but have hud trouble de-
ciding the best way to do this. Of
course we realize thut it is very
crowded So muny H-SU ACU
nnd high school people como
thut there is no room for
McMurry students.
At first we liked the popular-
ity of the Social Hall and didn't
want to stop non-McMurry stu-
dents from coming (for you
inter-college lovers) so we
merely discouraged them by
raising their udmittunce fee. As
for high school students MSG
ruled thut only the first Sntur-
day of every month could be
open for them ulong with a high
admittance fee. Also a high
school student could come as a
date of a McMurry student. Ob-
viously our discreet methods of
prevention didn't work. The So-
cial Hall is still packed!
MSG has mulled over many
alternatives each Monday night
at 5:30 but we haven't come up
with the perfect brain storm.
Last Mondoy evening MSG
moved that the decision be
"moved to committee". This
means that the Student Life
committee will decide upon the
fate of the Social Hall.
My request is that if any of
you hnve that perfect bruin
storm please let either Pam

m ami Jwefa
Wheeler. Effie Handficld Sally
Robertson or Kevin Kirby know
of your idea. Those people are
the Student Life committee nnd
they may decide your decision.
If you can't locate any of those
people come to the MSG meet-
ing Monday evening ut 5:30 in
the Board Room of Muedgeu
and speak your peace.
We ure thinking of opening
the Social Hall on Friday nights
(Friday night other than the
film nights) for McMurry stu-
dents only and letting "Satur-
day Night Fever" remain at So-
cial Hall on Saturday nights.
Please let us hear of what you
think about our popular but
crowded Social Hall.
As for you guys who have the
problem of not having enough
room to make moves juHt
think on Friday nights you
may have the dream of your life.
Plenty of room und ONLY
gorgeous McMurry girls!
