Littlefield lived a full, prosperous, and happy seventy-eight
years of life. Though the remaining records are rather spotty,
there are enough yet existing that it is possible to discern from
his own statements most of the facets of his character. While his
character was to a great degree unique among contemporaries, in
many ways it reflects the times in which it was prominent.
George W. Littlefield the man was many things to many people.
Most importantly of all, he was a businessman, a cattleman, a
farmer, a father, a brother, a counsellor, a provider, and a banker,
Most interestingly, he was authoritatively all of these at once.
