The sixty-seventh Annual Meeting of the Texas State Historical
Association will be held on April 26 and 27, 1963, at the new
Gondolier Hotel in Austin. The Gondolier Hotel is located just
east of the Interregional Highway (East Avenue) on the south
bank of the Colorado River. The location is an historic one for
the Interregional Highway bridge over the Colorado at that point
is on the approximate site where the Chisholm Trail crossed the
river.
Anne Brindley of Galveston sends word of a significant financial
milestone reached in connection with the historical Williams
House, for the note on the house was paid off on November 11
followed by a note-burning ceremony and festivities. Mrs. Brindley
also has informed the Association of the following ceremony of
importance which has been planned for Galveston during the
week of January 1-6, 1963.
