Accreted strip along downstream side of
overflow channel which cuts off Goat
Island.
The position of the active channel, accurately
placed along the eroded strip, would obviously
be against the eroding bank.
The "new" position of the cut bank is that of
the line of posts set by the commissioners in 1923
to mark the bank as of the dates the meanders
were run (summer and fall).
