purpose is "to substantially recreate these magnificent Alamo
heroes as they actually were" so that "the hero-worshipping Texas
schoolchildren will have genuine sources of information. ... "
Actually, it is an item of more than casual interest to the col-
lector and student of Texas history. In the hands of schoolchil-
dren, it might well set back the unsteady progress of grammatical
writing for another hundred years.
