office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington, D. C. In printed colors the map
shows counties, county seats, rivers, mountains, roads, railroads, railroad lands,
timber areas, and telegraph lines Given on the map are notes with a key on
geological information, area in square miles broken down into organized and
territorial areas, and a chart of latitude and longitude of principal cities. Inset:
State Capitol at Austin. Scale: 1 inch-5o miles. Size: 19 inches x 171/4 inches.

Map taken from "El Paso Troubles in Texas," Adjutant General Reports 1870o-88o,
House Executive Documents, 45th Cong., 2nd Sess. (no serial number given), Docu-
ment No. 93, between pp. 68 and 69. The map was made in 1877 according to the
statement by W. B. Blanchard, surveyor, in this report on January go, 1878. This
handdrawn map shows land tracts by owner and number, rivers, lakes, towns, a
ranch, Memphis, El Paso and Pacific Railroad line according to an act of the
legislature. One copy and one photostat. Size: 1s/4 inches x 46 inches.
