MBS WORLD (Continued):
* President Art Keir sent along a clipping
relating to the National Geographic
Society's involvement with cuneiform
tablets. The only reference to the size of
some of the tablets was expressed as "each
about the size of a present-day belt pager."
And, that would fit our standards.
* Julius Caesar formed a traveling library of
45 little volumes, contained in an oak case
measuring 16 x 11 x 3 inches, covered with
leather. The books are bound in white
vellum, and consist of history, philosophy,
theology, and poetry, in Greek and Latin.
The collector was Sir Julius Caesar, of
England, and this exquisite and unique
collection is in the British Museum. The
books were all printed between 1591 and
1616.
